I am obsessed with my slow cooker these days! I just love how you can throw your ingredients in and forget about it until it’s time for dinner. My chicken recipes also come out moist and tender every single time. You really can’t mess this up! Plus, there’s very little clean up. I use this 4 1/2 quart Crock Pot and it hasn’t done me wrong yet. It’s super easy to use and did I mention, it’s super easy to clean? 🙂
This recipe is my go-to for anything that calls for shredded chicken. It really doesn’t get any easier. You can also modify it many different ways depending on what type of dish you are using the chicken for. (See my notes below for other ideas on how to mix this up.)
This Italian chicken goes great in my Creamy Pesto Chicken & Spinach Orzo dinner recipe. It’s also great for salads or paired with some herb brown rice and veggies.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Easy Slow Cooker Italian Chicken
Delicious, moist chicken that comes out perfect every time!
- 3-4 chicken breasts
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 cup Italian dressing
Spray slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
Season chicken with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. Rub in the seasonings and lay chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
Pour Italian dressing over the top of the chicken. (You can use whatever brand you prefer. I chose Ken's Italian dressing and it was delicious!)
Cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3-4 hours. If making shredded chicken, then remove chicken from the slow cooker once done and shred with two forks.
- If you are using this in a Mexican flavored dish, you could substitute cumin for the Italian seasoning and use enchilada sauce instead of Italian dressing. The limits are endless to how you can cook chicken in the slow cooker!
