crockpot recipes, italian chicken #slowcooker

It’s safe to say that I’m obsessed with my slow cooker. I just love how you can throw your ingredients in and forget about it until dinner time. I also love how soft and tender the chicken comes out when it’s cooked in a Crock Pot.

This easy-to-follow recipe is a celebration of simplicity and taste, making it the ideal dish for busy days. It couldn’t be any more simple. There’s very few ingredients and also very little cleanup, which is why it’s a regular in our dinner rotation. (I use this 4 1/2 quart Crock Pot and love it.)

INGREDIENTS

  • 3-4 chicken breasts (about 1-1½ pounds)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup Italian dressing – I love using the Olive Garden Italian dressing, but any kind will work.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

Start by spraying your Crock Pot with nonstick cooking spray.

In a small bowl, add the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper and mix together. Sprinkle the seasoning mix onto both sides of the chicken and gently rub it in.

Next, pour a small amount of the Italian dressing over the bottom of your slow cooker. Once you have a layer covering the bottom, stop and lay the chicken down, on top of the layer of dressing. After you placed all the chicken in the Crock Pot, continue pouring the remaining amount of dressing evenly over the chicken.

Cook on low for 6-7 hours, or high for approximately 3-4 hours.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

This Italian chicken works well in my Creamy Pesto Chicken & Spinach Orzo recipe. (Just skip to step number three since you will have already made your chicken.) It’s also really good served over my White Spaghetti recipe.

This Italian chicken would also be great on top of a salad, or paired with some brown rice and veggies.

You could also serve it over one of your other favorite pasta recipes.

If you try it, please rate it below to let me know how you liked it! I hope you enjoy this one as much as our family does.

This chicken was simple and AMAZING!!! My 4 girls are beyond picky and every one of them – including me – loved this chicken. Would order it in a restaurant. They were literally fighting over the last piece! I made it with butter garlic baby potatoes and steamed broccoli. Smelled like a restaurant in here!

This was very good and easy! I only cooked the chicken for 3 hours on low and it was still moist and sliceable and served it over brown rice pasta.
